Puppy Love

For Coyote on our Fourth Anniversary
By HJG, June 21, 2006

I’m a Chimaera he can be proud of,
Turning tricks and wagging tail,
My tender, faithful Puppy Love.

I’ve learned to tiptoe instead of shove;
To peer beyond, between the veil.
I’m a Chimaera he can be proud of.

He quiets pains I can’t let go of,
Always vigilant without fail,
My tender, faithful Puppy Love.

There’s plenty here I’ve gotten sick of;
Still I persist - I’ll never bail.
I’m a Chimaera he can be proud of.

My heart rests in his soft-clawed glove
As together we spin our tale,
My tender, faithful Puppy Love.

On pelts we sigh, black stars above,
We meet each lifetime without fail.
I’m a Chimaera you can be proud of,
My tender, faithful Puppy Love.
